Train at a platform

A job interview is stressful enough without worrying about the journey. A bit of planning means you arrive calm and on time.

Option 1: taxi to the station, then the train

Sittingbourne has fast trains into London, including high-speed services to St Pancras. A taxi from Sheerness takes about 20 minutes, and from Minster about 15 minutes. Book it for a train that gets you in with time to spare.

Option 2: door to door

For offices in Docklands, outer London or business parks, or for early starts, a taxi all the way can be simpler: no changes, no crowded carriages, and time to go over your notes.

Tips

  • Aim to arrive 30–45 minutes early and find a café nearby
  • Have your interview details on paper as well as your phone
  • Book your return separately, as interviews can overrun

Should I take the train or a taxi to a London interview?

For central London, the train is often quickest, with a taxi to Sittingbourne station. For offices outside the centre, or with an awkward connection, a taxi all the way can be easier.
