Nothing spoils the start of a holiday like trying to cram four suitcases into a boot built for two. The trick is to tell us about your luggage when you book, so we send the right vehicle first time.
The options
- Saloon: one or two people with normal luggage. Comfortable for a couple flying off for a week.
- Estate: the same number of seats, but a much bigger boot. Ideal for long trips or bulky bags.
- People carrier: larger families and small groups.
- Minibus: up to 8 passengers with luggage, for big families, friends travelling together and groups. See minibus taxis.
What to tell us
- How many large cases, and how many cabin bags
- Anything awkward: golf clubs, bikes in bags, surfboards, ski bags, mobility aids
- Buggies and car seats
Long-haul and family holidays
A two-week family holiday can easily mean a large case each, plus hand luggage and a buggy. That's when an estate or minibus pays off: everyone travels together, there's no separate car for the bags, and you're not sitting with a case on your lap to Heathrow.
Groups heading to the airport
From Queenborough, for example, Heathrow is about 80 miles (1 hr 30 – 1 hr 55). That's a long way to travel squashed. One minibus for the whole group is usually more comfortable, and often cheaper per person than two cars.
