Travelling with little ones always means more kit. Here's what you need to know about car seats and pushchairs when you book a taxi with us.
What the law says
UK law gives licensed taxis and private hire vehicles a specific exemption. If the right child seat isn't available:
- Children under 3 can travel without a child seat, but only in the back
- Children aged 3 and over can travel in the back using an adult seat belt
That's the legal minimum. A properly fitted child seat is always safer, so if you have one, bring it.
Bringing your own seat
Tell us when you book that you're bringing a car seat. Fitting one takes a few minutes, so we allow for it in the pickup time. If you're travelling with several children and seats, we may suggest a larger vehicle.
Pushchairs and buggies
Folded buggies usually fit in the boot alongside a bag or two. If you've got a large travel system, a double buggy or lots of luggage as well, let us know and we'll send an estate or a minibus.
Airport trips with a baby
- Tell us about the car seat, buggy and how many cases
- Allow a little extra time at both ends for unloading and loading
- Book your return at the same time with your flight number
Book with the form above or call 01795 25 25 01. See airport taxis and local taxis.
