Early flights are cheap, but getting to the airport for one can be anything but easy. If you live in Halfway, here's why a pre-booked taxi is usually the safest bet.
1. The trains don't start early enough
For a 6am departure you'll want to be at the airport around 4am. The first trains off Sheppey simply don't run that early, and even if they did, you'd still have changes at Sittingbourne and in London.
2. Halfway is a quick start
Halfway sits on the A250, just minutes from the A249 and the Sheppey Crossing. In the small hours the roads are clear, so Gatwick is usually at the quicker end of its 1 hr 5 – 1 hr 25 range and London City around 55 – 1 hr 15.
3. A fixed fare, whatever happens
Your price is agreed when you book. If there are overnight roadworks on the M25 or a closure at Dartford, it doesn't change what you pay.
4. You're not relying on a lift
Asking a friend for a 3am lift is a big favour, and they then have a long drive home. A booked taxi means nobody else's alarm has to go off.
5. Night-shift friendly
If you work nights at Sheppey Community Hospital or elsewhere nearby, we can collect you straight from work and take you to the airport, so you can sleep in the car.
