Iwade has grown into a large village, but it doesn't have everything on the doorstep. Here's how residents get around without a car.
Where things are
- Sittingbourne station: about 4.1 miles
- The retail parks on Sheppey, over the bridge: about 4.7 miles
- Medway Maritime Hospital: about 9.9 miles
Buses and walking
Buses link Iwade with Sittingbourne at the main times of day. Walking or cycling into Sittingbourne is possible, but it's a fair distance along busy roads.
When a taxi is easier
- Early trains and late returns
- Shopping trips with heavy bags
- Hospital and GP appointments
- School runs, booked for the whole term
