Suitcases in the boot of a car

"Will it all fit?" is one of the most common questions we get before an airport run. The honest answer is: it depends on the bags, so the more you tell us, the better.

A rough guide

  • Saloon: fine for a couple of large cases plus hand luggage
  • Estate: a much bigger boot, good for families or long trips
  • People carrier: more seats, with space for luggage when not every seat is in use
  • Minibus: up to 8 passengers with luggage, the answer for big families and groups

Every case and boot is different, so treat this as a starting point, not a promise.

The awkward stuff

Golf bags, ski bags, bikes in boxes, surfboards and mobility aids take up far more room than a suitcase. Mention them when you book and we'll make sure they fit.

Rule of thumb

If you're not sure, tell us the number of people and bags and let us choose the vehicle. It's much better than finding out at 3am that the boot won't close.
