Airport terminal

Stansted is a big base for low-cost airlines, with flights all over Europe. Here's what to expect.

One terminal

Stansted has a single terminal, so there's no risk of going to the wrong one. It can still be very busy, especially early in the morning.

Drop-off

The airport charges for dropping off at the terminal forecourt, and it also has a drop-off option in one of its car parks with a bus to the terminal. Rules change, so ask us when you book how drop-off is handled.

Getting there from Sheppey

From Sheerness, Stansted is about 76 miles, typically 1 hr 20 – 1 hr 50. The route crosses the Thames at Dartford, where queues can build, so we always allow a margin.

Tips

  • Early flights mean very early starts: book well ahead
  • Security queues can be long in the morning peak
  • The Dartford Crossing is free between 10pm and 6am, but any charge is part of our agreed fare anyway

See the Stansted airport guide or call 01795 25 25 01.
