Heathrow is the UK's biggest airport, and it's spread out. Knowing your terminal before you leave Kent makes the whole trip easier.
The four terminals
- Terminals 2 and 3: side by side in the central area, reached through the tunnel under the north runway
- Terminal 4: on the south side of the airport, reached by its own road
- Terminal 5: on the western side, mainly used by British Airways
Check your terminal
Your terminal is on your booking and boarding pass. Airlines sometimes move, so check again a day or two before you fly.
Moving between terminals
If you end up at the wrong terminal, travel between the Heathrow stations on the Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line is free. Allow plenty of time, especially to or from Terminal 4 or 5.
Getting there from Kent
From Sheerness, Heathrow is about 82 miles, typically 1 hr 35 – 2 hr, via the M25. The western M25 is one of the busiest stretches of motorway in the country, so we build in a margin.
Tell us your terminal when you book and we'll take you straight to the right drop-off area. Heathrow charges vehicles for terminal drop-off; ask us how this is handled when you book.
